I'm away at a conference this week at which I've been enjoying the presentations and social events. My biggest barrier that I have discovered is having food that I can eat readily available. They did ask about dietary restrictions upon registration but I signed up before I had the histamine and IBS revelation Then I forgot about it. And frankly, there is a list of foods too numerous to mention. Almost every meal has proved a challenge. Lunch time: curry chicken and spinach salad. Well, my tummy does like spices and tomato based sauces. Oh and spinach is very high in histamine. Good thing muffins were still available from snack time. Then another was broccoli and chicken crepes.... In Swiss cheese. Another ixnay so had a roll. Silly me of course then only had an apple and some crackers before my presentation and didn't grab an extra so I kind of crashed after and sat through a long meeting to end up rather hungry. My supper excursion was a bit of a farce but I did eventually find good food. At least at the banquet the night before, there were 4 stations and I ate at three which were able to make subtle but effective modifications. Thank goodness. At least breakfast at the Bed and Breakfast have been delicious and filling (and they are fine with little modifications like cooking with butter instead of margarine). They have also been willing to let me store my fish oil and acidophilus in their fridge, which I have been able to take in the morning before running off to my day.
This is my first real test of having sensitivities away from home. I have known that I have troubles with certain foods and now I can identify which ones. And I have to tell you that it had been very tricky. It makes me miss cooking for myself. I have been somewhat successful in keeping my tummy happy, until today where things got all kufuffled and I didn't drink nearly as much water as I did the last two days. So I am laying awake, again. I want to sleep, I really do. But that's another problem this week.
I have been doing fairly good in not overextending myself and take little breaks as my body asks for them, for the most part. My sleep has been a little hit and miss, mostly miss. I hope to recover over the weekend before it knocks my knees out from under me. I am having fun, so that spirit keeps me going.
I had hoped to do more exercise and stretches in the morning and glad I do when I think of it. This is such a wonderful little town where everything is in walking distance. It's fantastic :)
So, my hand has now fallen asleep from holding the phone, I should try for more sleep. Another 4 hours to go before I need to get up to eat breakfast and finish packing my bag to go home to my kitties and puppy.

Falling
See the world through smiling eyes
Falling in love and falling in love with life
Who'd of thought the consequences of feeling would bring such light
Little joys bless my world
More I smile and relax, the less pain I feel
Falling in love should feel like this, easy and right
Not afraid to be hurt, willing to take the risk
Hurt once before makes it easier to move forward
Close in touch, smiles and soul
Enjoy the moments and whispers when possible
Patiently wait and fret not the future
Good things come to those who wait
It matters not what may come but what is in this moment
Falling in love, feels like a fantasy
Falling in love with life again, feels like reality again
Cocooned away safe from harm leaves you empty in the long run
Connect and feel, I see life differently
Falling in love, falling in love with life, falling in love with myself again
Falling in love and falling in love with life
Who'd of thought the consequences of feeling would bring such light
Little joys bless my world
More I smile and relax, the less pain I feel
Falling in love should feel like this, easy and right
Not afraid to be hurt, willing to take the risk
Hurt once before makes it easier to move forward

Patiently wait and fret not the future
Good things come to those who wait
