Overcoming light

Weaving through the forest, fast escape through the shadows
As fast as I run, as fast as they catch up to me
Slow down and they consume me
Speed up and I lose breath
No matter what I can't breath
They overcome me

In the darkness I search for the light I once knew
It is here somewhere, I swear
Almost frantic, I calm down my nerves
Breath in and out, it consumes me
No matter what it, trapped
It overcomes me

Something so simple, desired and wanted
It is also the very death of dreams
Focus on one thing so so long
Keep running for the mountains
The trees scratch at me
They want to stop me
They want to overcome me

Never have I felt so conflicted, strong yet want to break down
The feelings inside want out and yet want to hide
So much turmoil and pain to wander through
In the shadows, the light is missing inside of me
It sits still, waiting and waiting for the right time
The light deigns to shine (at the right time)
It wants to overcome all

The empty shell that is slowly becoming me again
My soul runs to catch up to it and become one
Weaving fast through the forest of turmoil
The light follows my soul to find me
It will be embraced and welcomed
My path will be restored
It will overcome

My path has been decided and redecided in my dreams long ago
The dreams are murky and giving conflicting information
Logic left me alone, it knows something I want to deny
My heart follows one line and my gut the other
What to do believe, what to follow
It will not be safe for a while
Things will be figured out
It will all be overcame
